Le site de Trebal\u00fager \u00e0 Es Castell – \u00e0 ne pas confondre avec Trebal\u00fager \u00e0 Es Migjorn Gran – est habit\u00e9 depuis la pr\u00e9histoire, comme en t\u00e9moignent les nombreux vestiges m\u00e9galithiques et, surtout, les trois talayots qui forment un triangle dans son espace : les talayots de Trebal\u00fager, Torraixa et Binissa\u00efda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un \u00e9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9 pour la constitution du noyau de Trebal\u00fager serait Es Pou Gran, un puits \u00e0 tour. Autour de lui, il y avait trois grottes et – ce qui est plus inhabituel – jusqu’\u00e0 trois cages \u00e0 treuil pour tirer de l’eau avec un \u00e2ne ou un mulet, ainsi que des abreuvoirs et de petits jardins potagers pour planter des semis. Le puits \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9 par les roues \u00e0 eau et les maisons voisines, et il existait \u00e9galement tout un r\u00e9seau de chemins \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes distances – certains sont encore identifiables – qui s’\u00e9tendaient de mani\u00e8re radiale et servaient \u00e0 amener le b\u00e9tail \u00e0 \u00e9tancher sa soif. Ils venaient m\u00eame d’endroits tr\u00e8s \u00e9loign\u00e9s, comme Es Barranc, pr\u00e8s de Sant Llu\u00eds. Aujourd’hui, Es Pou Gran, qui a perdu sa fonction d’origine, est recouvert de t\u00f4les dans une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 priv\u00e9e, mais ce r\u00e9seau de chemins pourrait \u00eatre \u00e0 l’origine, \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque historique, du noyau rural de Trebal\u00fager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans la seconde moiti\u00e9 du XIXe si\u00e8cle, selon un recensement de 1873, 37 familles vivaient \u00e0 Trebal\u00fager, 19 \u00e0 Torraixa et 7 \u00e0 Binissa\u00efda, soit un total de 67 foyers. La m\u00eame source indique que toute la commune d’Es Castell \u00e9tait habit\u00e9e par une population de 1 962 personnes r\u00e9parties en 512 familles. Par une simple op\u00e9ration math\u00e9matique, les 67 familles des trois noyaux ruraux mentionn\u00e9s ci-dessus pourraient avoir une population approximative de 250 habitants, qui, \u00e9tant \u00e0 la campagne, pourrait m\u00eame \u00eatre plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e.
